From her arrival at the Indianapolis airport on June 1 until she left
for Quadrennial Assembly on June 21, Berthe Nzeba Kalombo blessed Indiana by
sharing her life and ministry among women and children that have been
devasted by war in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Mbandaka Easter Relief
The fighting that erupted in Mbandaka on Easter Sunday has, in some ways,
pillaged our partner churches in that district. Please join the region and
Task Force in assisting our partner churches.

The Congo Partnership Task Force is beginning plans for a second Hoosier Disciples delegation to visit our brothers
and Sisters of the Disciples of Christ in the Mbandaka district of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The next step in this growing relationship is another trip to Mbandaka, in
late spring or early summer of 2011. Participants will be clergy and laity, and
we hope to have youth participation. Group size will be limited to nine, and the
approximate cost will be $5,000.
If you are interested in being part of the 2011 delegation to Mbandaka,
please download the guidelines and application. Questions? Contact
Cheryl Cloar.
An exciting curriculum for Vacation Bible School or Rotation Church
School is now available for download. Developed by members
of the Partnership Task Force and persons who made the Congo
visit in May 2008, the curriculum is available for free to
congregations of the Christian Church in Indiana.
While the Congo Partnership Task Force works to build the
partnership by educating and informing Disciples in Indiana,
the Comite Jum carries out the same mission in Congo.
Donate to the Partnership Fund
The Christian Church in Indiana is extending the opportunity for you to participate in the partnership
through a gift to the Congo Partnership Fund. Please join others around the

Visit the Photo Gallery
Photos from the Congo delegation's trip are available for
churches to use either in promoting the mission partnership or
in using the Congo Connection materials. Images can be
downloaded individually or as a PDF suitable for printing.
Attendees at the 2008 Regional Assembly at Purdue saw the video that shares the
experiences and reflections of the delegation. Attendees also received a
DVD containing the 12-minute video. Copies of the DVD were also mailed to
each congregation.
You can watch the video or download a copy for your use. The video is a very large file that will require
approximately 10 minutes to download at DSL speeds.
If your congregation or a group in your congregation decides
to undertake one of these projects, please let us know so that we can share the
news around the region.
For Study
Members of the Task Force are compiling a bibliography of
books related to the Congo, its people and its
history. Some of these books have study materials available to facilitate
conversations in study groups or Sunday school classes.
